The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has granted No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to three national cricketers, allowing them to participate in overseas franchise and county competitions during a period that does not conflict with Bangladesh’s international commitments. Fast bowlers Mustafizur Rahman and Hasan Mahmud, along with opening batter Parvez Hossain Emon, are the latest players to receive approval.
Mustafizur is set to make his debut appearance in England’s 100-ball competition, The Hundred. The left-arm seamer was selected by Birmingham Phoenix during the tournament draft and is expected to be available throughout the competition after the BCB approved his release from 20 July to 20 August. With no scheduled Bangladesh international fixtures during that period, the experienced pace bowler is expected to feature in the entire tournament.
The opportunity represents another important chapter in Mustafizur’s overseas career. Having previously played in several leading franchise competitions around the world, his participation in The Hundred will provide him with another chance to test himself in English conditions while representing one of the tournament’s established franchises.
Young opener Parvez Hossain Emon has also received permission to continue his overseas commitments. After completing Bangladesh’s tour of Zimbabwe, he will join Lahore Qalandars for the Global Super League. The left-handed batter is already familiar with the franchise, having previously represented the same side in the Pakistan Super League. Another overseas assignment is expected to provide valuable experience as he continues to establish himself in Bangladesh’s senior set-up.
Fast bowler Hasan Mahmud has also earned another opportunity in English county cricket after Kent Spitfires decided to bring him back for the closing stages of the Vitality Blast group phase. He is scheduled to play the club’s final three group matches.
Hasan impressed during his earlier spell with Kent in the County Championship, claiming 12 wickets in just two matches. His standout performance came against Lancashire, where he produced remarkable figures of 6 for 69, an effort that drew widespread praise and strengthened his reputation in English domestic cricket. His return reflects the confidence the county side have placed in his ability to make another significant contribution.
The BCB generally grants NOCs only when overseas commitments do not interfere with the national team’s international schedule. The policy enables Bangladesh’s leading cricketers to gain valuable experience in different playing conditions while remaining available for international duty whenever required.
Several Bangladesh players had already received permission to feature in overseas competitions before this latest announcement. One-day International captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz was granted an NOC to participate in the Lanka Premier League, while Twenty20 International captain Litton Das, all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, and fast bowlers Taskin Ahmed and Hasan Mahmud had also received approval for overseas commitments.
With Mustafizur Rahman and Parvez Hossain Emon now joining that list, the BCB continues to balance the national team’s priorities with opportunities for players to develop through high-quality international franchise and county cricket. Such exposure is expected to benefit both the individuals and Bangladesh cricket in the long term by broadening the players’ experience against elite opposition in different conditions.
