BLA Claims 19 Pakistani Soldiers Killed in Coordinated Khuzdar Operation

The outlawed Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for a major military operation in the Khuzdar region of Balochistan, alleging that its fighters killed 19 Pakistani soldiers during a series of intense engagements. In a statement released by BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch, the separatist group also acknowledged that six of its own insurgents were killed during the three-phase offensive.

According to details published by the Balochistan Post, the operation began around 6:00 AM when BLA fighters launched a coordinated assault on government installations in Khuzdar. Insurgents reportedly overran a local police station, seized a significant stockpile of weapons and ammunition, and subsequently destroyed the facility using explosive devices.

Following the initial attack, Pakistani security forces established roadblocks and security cordons along the main highway leading into the town. The BLA claimed its forces ambushed an advancing police convoy led by a Deputy Superintendent of Police near Sorgaz, forcing the security detail to retreat under fire.

The confrontation escalated as the Pakistani military deployed additional reinforcements, including armored personnel carriers and gunship helicopters, leading to heavy clashes lasting over three hours. The BLA claimed that more than 15 security personnel were killed and dozens injured during this exchange, with heavy fire destroying an armored vehicle and damaging a military helicopter.

Later that evening, BLA insurgents launched a secondary ambush against another military convoy moving along the highway, destroying a transport vehicle and killing four more soldiers, bringing the claimed military death toll to 19.

While the BLA paid tribute to the six insurgents killed in the operation, independent verification of the casualty figures remains difficult due to strict media access controls and security restrictions in conflict zones across Balochistan. Pakistani security authorities have not officially confirmed the high death toll reported by the group.
