Country Is Fully Safe Says Minister Amid Violent Threats

The overall law and order situation across the nation is completely under control, according to Home Minister Salah Uddin Ahmad. Speaking to journalists at a high-level briefing, he reiterated that law enforcement units along with state intelligence services are maintaining a state of high alert across the country to counter any potential anti-state conspiracies or security threats that could destabilize public peace.

The minister delivered these statements on Tuesday afternoon during a press briefing organized at the Ministry of Home Affairs within the Bangladesh Secretariat. Addressing pressing contemporary issues, he reassured the nation regarding domestic safety and state readiness:

  • Tackling Extremism: Minister Ahmad stressed that intelligence networks and security forces remain perpetually active to curb extremism and protect internal stability, preventing subversive elements from gaining any foothold.

  • Heightened Police Patrols: In response to queries regarding intensified police security measures, the minister explained that these actions represent routine administrative adjustments. Field personnel have been instructed to refrain from patrolling alone and to remain extremely vigilant during operational duties, dismissing any speculation that these measures indicate an emergency.

Banned Parties, Recent Violence, and Presidential Polls

Addressing questions regarding outlawed political factions, Salah Uddin Ahmad stated that such organizations hold absolutely no ground-level influence within Bangladesh today. He remarked that while certain banned groups attempt to stir up controversy using social media channels from overseas, they are entirely incapable of carrying out any tangible disruptive actions within the country’s borders.

Furthermore, when asked about recent reported attacks on the National Citizen Party (NCP), the Home Minister guaranteed that comprehensive and neutral investigations will be conducted. He made it clear that any perpetrators identified through the investigation will face severe legal action according to established statutes. Finally, touching upon inquiries regarding the upcoming presidential election, the minister clarified that all electoral decisions fall strictly under the constitutional authority of the Election Commission, which alone retains the power to determine schedules and administrative guidelines.
