De Kock Joins Kohli and Warner in Elite T20 Club

South African wicketkeeper-batter Quinton de Kock has reached another significant landmark in T20 cricket, bringing his career tally of centuries in the format to 10.

De Kock achieved the feat during the Caribbean Premier League, where he represented Barbados Tridents against St Kitts & Nevis Patriots. He produced a commanding innings of 106 from 57 deliveries, striking at 185.96. His explosive knock included 11 fours and six sixes, underlining his ability to accelerate rapidly once settled at the crease.

The century places De Kock among a select group of T20 batters who have reached double figures for hundreds. He is now level with India’s Virat Kohli and Australia’s David Warner, who also have 10 T20 centuries each. De Kock becomes the fifth batter to reach the 10-century mark in the format.

Only two players sit above the trio on the century list. West Indies great Chris Gayle leads with 22 centuries from 463 T20 appearances, while Pakistan batter Babar Azam is second with 13 hundreds from 359 matches.

De Kock’s latest century also moves him closer to another major achievement. He is just 133 runs away from becoming only the ninth batter in T20 history to accumulate 13,000 runs.

The South African has so far played 457 T20 matches and has batted in 433 innings, scoring 12,867 runs at an average of 31.30 and a strike rate of 139.78. His record includes 10 centuries and 84 fifties, with an unbeaten 140 remaining his highest score in the format.

His consistency has also placed him among the leading run-scorers in T20 cricket. De Kock currently occupies ninth position on the all-time list, which is headed by fellow West Indies star Kieron Pollard. Pollard has amassed 14,933 runs in 751 matches at a strike rate of 151.17.

De Kock’s latest performance adds another notable chapter to a T20 career built around aggressive strokeplay and the ability to convert strong starts into substantial scores. His combination of power and tempo has made him a valuable batter across franchise competitions, and the 10th century further strengthens his standing among the format’s most productive run-scorers.

With only 133 runs separating him from the 13,000-run milestone, another major landmark is now within reach. If he achieves it, De Kock will join an even smaller group of batters whose T20 careers have extended beyond both extraordinary longevity and sustained run-scoring.
