Detectives from the District Detective Branch (DB) of Police have arrested a 42-year-old man and confiscated 400 grams of processed cannabis during an evening tactical operation in the Mirapara neighborhood of Munshiganj Sadar Upazila on Wednesday, 26 August 2026.
The precision raid was executed at approximately 8:20 pm as part of an expanding, district-wide anti-narcotics drive directed by the Superintendent of Police to bolster public safety and suppress narcotics trafficking across Munshiganj. Acting on specific, intelligence-led leads regarding localized illicit drug distribution, a specialized DB squad led by Sub-Inspector (SI) Yaqub Hossain conducted a targeted sweep of key locations within Mirapara. During the drive, officers intercepted and detained the suspect, identified as Ismail Bepari, a local resident and son of Omar Mia. A search conducted at the scene yielded the 400-gram packet of processed cannabis hidden on his person.
