A head-on collision between a motorcycle and a local passenger bus in Muksudpur, Gopalganj, has resulted in the death of a 30-year-old man and left two others injured. The incident occurred on Friday night (17 April) in the Shantipur area of Jaliarpur Union along the Gopalganj–Tekterhat road.
The deceased has been identified as Tamim Matubbar, son of Salam Matubbar, from Krishnapur Paikpara village in Rajair upazila of Madaripur district.
According to police and local sources, Tamim was returning home by motorcycle with two friends after attending a “Charak Ghulli” event held in the South Jaliarpur village of Muksudpur upazila. While travelling along the road, their motorcycle collided head-on with a local passenger bus of Tekterhat Enterprise, which was en route from Tekterhat to Gopalganj.
The impact of the collision left all three motorcycle riders injured. Local residents immediately rescued the victims and transported them to Rajair Upazila Health Complex in Madaripur. On arrival, the attending physician declared Tamim dead.

Dr Mohammad Sohel Sheikh, emergency duty physician at Rajair Upazila Health Complex, confirmed that Tamim had died before being brought to the hospital. He also stated that the incident was reported to the police.
Muksudpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abdullah Al Mamun confirmed that following completion of legal procedures, the body was handed over to the deceased’s family on Saturday.
The collision occurred on the Gopalganj–Tekterhat road, a route frequently used for local transport between surrounding upazilas. Police have completed initial formalities in connection with the incident.
