Fazlur Rahman, a Member of Parliament representing the Kishoreganj-4 constituency and a veteran freedom fighter, has publicly assured job seekers in his area of his direct assistance with employment processes, provided they successfully clear their written examinations. Speaking at a well-attended public rally held on Monday afternoon at the Amirganj-Janataganj Bazaar area in Itna upazila’s Mriga union, the senior politician urged local candidates to bring their admit cards straight to him once they pass the initial written phase of recruitment tests.
Addressing the gathering, the lawmaker reflected on historical challenges faced by local youth, noting that many capable young individuals from the village successfully pass written tests only to face rejection during viva-voce interviews, ultimately missing out on employment opportunities. He explicitly instructed attendees to bring their admit documentation directly to him upon passing their written papers, assuring them that he would personally make the necessary telephone calls and intervene to facilitate their employment prospects. Emphasising his dedication to humanitarian efforts, Rahman underlined that assisting constituents in securing stable livelihoods forms a vital part of his public service responsibilities.
Beyond employment facilitation, the lawmaker addressed broader social welfare and medical support for vulnerable families in the constituency. He invited residents facing severe health hardships—such as personal illness or the sickness of family members—to reach out to him directly. He promised to arrange for patients to be transported to Dhaka for proper medical treatment at minimal personal expense. However, the MP issued a stern, uncompromising warning against corruption and bribery in the recommendation process. He declared that if any individual attempts to secure his lobbying support by paying intermediaries or leaders, and if that transaction is proven, he will completely withdraw his assistance. Furthermore, he stated that if anyone comes to him with recommendations backed by financial exchanges, both the applicant’s prospective job and the intermediary’s position will be jeopardised. Strongly defending his personal integrity, he vowed that he has no personal need for financial gain and rejected any suggestion of corrupt practices.
The political rally drew a significant crowd of local leaders and supporters, highlighting the strong regional presence of the opposition and allied figures. Prominent attendees included Supreme Court advocate and former vice-president of the Kishoreganj district BNP, Umme Kulsum Rekha; Itna upazila BNP president SM Kamal Hossain; general secretary Siddiquzzaman Thakur Swapan; senior vice-president and chairman Monir Uddin; along with the MP’s personal assistant, Enamul Haque Molla, alongside various activists and leaders from affiliated party organisations.
