Mushfiq Named Series Best Reflects on Hard Work

Bangladesh have registered a landmark Test series victory over Pakistan, securing their first-ever home Test series win against the side. The result marks a significant achievement in the nation’s Test cricket history, with Najmul Hossain Shanto leading the team as captain throughout the series.

The home side delivered a composed and disciplined performance across the series, combining responsible batting with consistent bowling displays to overcome Pakistan. Following the match, Mushfiqur Rahim expressed gratitude and credited the team effort behind the achievement. He said, ‘Alhamdulillah. It is a very big achievement. The boys deserve this success. Over the past few years, the way everyone has been playing, they deserve this credit.’

He also highlighted the importance of Litton Das’s innings in the first innings, which he noted had a major impact on Bangladesh remaining competitive in the match. According to Mushfiqur, the dressing-room environment remained positive, with the team focusing on building a strong total. He said, ‘Litton was outstanding in the first innings; because of him we stayed in the match. The morale in the dressing room was also very high. We thought we needed to get close to 450-plus runs.’

The veteran cricketer further praised the bowling unit for maintaining discipline and sticking to basic plans, which proved effective in applying pressure on the opposition. He remarked, ‘The bowlers kept things simple, they deserve credit.’

Reflecting on his personal journey, Mushfiqur emphasised the demands of representing the national team and the importance of continuous hard work. He added, ‘I am playing for the country. It is not an easy job. You have to work hard here. Keep working. I am enjoying my life. I thank Almighty Allah.’
