The Fire Service received the report of the fire at approximately 12.25pm. According to Talha Bin Jasim, a station officer with the Fire Service, the blaze broke out at the factory around midday, prompting factory workers and local residents to try to extinguish it before emergency crews arrived.
Fire Service personnel were alerted as the situation unfolded. Eight units were dispatched to the scene and began operations to contain the fire. After more than an hour of efforts, the blaze was brought under control at around 2pm.
During the operation, firefighters recovered the body of one person from the factory premises, Talha Bin Jasim confirmed. The deceased’s identity had not been established immediately after the recovery, and no further details about the individual were available at the time of reporting.
The circumstances surrounding the death remain unclear. There was no immediate information about whether anyone else had been injured or whether additional people had been trapped inside the building when the fire broke out.
The cause of the fire has also not been confirmed. Further information is needed to establish how the blaze started and whether any particular equipment, electrical installation or combustible material contributed to its spread. The extent of the damage to the factory was not immediately known either.
Fires at industrial premises can pose serious challenges for emergency responders, particularly where plastic raw materials, finished products or other combustible substances are stored. Depending on the materials involved and the layout of the premises, flames can spread quickly, making it difficult to search for people who may be trapped inside.
In such incidents, firefighters must prioritise containing the blaze while also checking affected areas for casualties. Establishing the identity of any deceased person, assessing property damage and determining the cause of the fire are also important parts of the subsequent investigation.
However, no findings on these matters were immediately available in the case of Aman Plastic Factory. The information confirmed so far is that eight Fire Service units took part in the operation, the fire was brought under control at around 2pm, and one body was recovered from the premises.
The identity of the deceased, the cause of the fire and the full extent of the damage remain to be established.
