In Fatikchhari upazila of Chattogram, a teacher named Md Shahin Uddin (31) has been permanently expelled following allegations of indecent behaviour towards a second-grade female student at a local madrasa. The decision was taken during an emergency meeting held at the madrasa office at 11:30 am on Monday (15 June).
The accused, Shahin Uddin, is the son of the late Badiul Alam from the West Hasnabad area of Ward No. 5 under Dantmara Union in the upazila. He had been working as a teacher at the Khillapara Hazarat Abdul Qadir Jilani (RA) Ibtedayi Madrasa and Hafezkhana.
According to the madrasa management committee and local sources, the incident allegedly occurred on Sunday (14 June) during regular classes, when the teacher was accused of committing indecent conduct involving a second-grade student. Following the incident, the matter was reported by students to their families.
In response, the madrasa authorities convened an emergency arbitration meeting on Monday morning at the madrasa office. During the meeting, statements were taken from the accused teacher and the affected students. After discussions, the participants concluded that the allegations were substantiated. The management committee and attending guardians then decided to permanently expel the teacher after obtaining a written undertaking (bond) from him.

A guardian of the victim student, who works abroad, expressed strong concern over the incident, stating that such events inside classrooms are unacceptable and raise serious concerns about student safety. He also demanded exemplary punishment for the accused teacher.
Attempts to contact Shahin Uddin were unsuccessful as his mobile phone remained unreachable.
Madrasa director Maulana Nazim Uddin confirmed the incident and stated that it was an unfortunate and unacceptable occurrence. He said the institution prioritises student safety and the maintenance of a proper educational environment, and therefore took immediate action without compromise.
Meanwhile, reports suggesting political involvement of the accused were dismissed by Hasan Shamsuddin, president of the local ward unit of Jamaat-e-Islami. He stated that Shahin Uddin was neither a member nor a responsible figure of the party and had no affiliation with it. He also condemned the incident and called for appropriate legal action.
