Trump warns Middle Eastern allies of a possible attack on Iran today

The United States appears to be standing on the brink of a major military confrontation with Iran, amid mounting indications that a carefully planned strike could be launched at any moment. According to a report by the American outlet The Drop Site News, President Donald Trump retains the option to authorise a coordinated attack as early as today, Sunday, signalling one of the gravest escalations in Middle Eastern tensions in recent years.

The report suggests that the prospective operation would go far beyond targeting Iran’s nuclear facilities or missile infrastructure. Instead, US military planners are said to be considering a so-called “decapitation strategy”, aimed directly at Iran’s top leadership. The underlying calculation is that removing the senior command of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) could trigger widespread public unrest, ultimately paving the way for a collapse of the current political order and a change of regime in Tehran.

A former senior US intelligence official, quoted in the report, claims that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is strongly in favour of such an operation and has been urging Washington to act without delay. Netanyahu has reportedly assured President Trump that Israel would fully support the formation of a pro-Western government in Tehran should the existing leadership be overthrown.

President Trump himself added to the sense of urgency on Friday, when he confirmed from the Oval Office that a substantial US naval task force was already moving towards Iranian waters. The deployment has sent shockwaves across the region, prompting Arab states to reassess their security posture. Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have publicly stated that they will not permit their airspace or territorial waters to be used for any military action against Iran, reflecting deep concern about the risk of regional spill-over.
