A young man identified as Helal has been stabbed to death by unidentified miscreants in the Haluaghat upazila of Mymensingh district. The violent incident occurred on Monday, 8 June, in the afternoon, causing significant disruption in the local area. The deceased victim was identified by authorities as a resident of the Purba Kacharipara locality and was the son of the late Ali Hossain.

According to verified reports from local residents and law enforcement sources, the physical assault took place at approximately 5:00 pm. The crime occurred in the immediate vicinity of the Haluaghat Land Office, a prominent public facility within the upazila. Following the stabbing, relatives discovered Helal at the scene suffering from severe and life-threatening bodily injuries.
Family members immediately rescued the wounded young man from the location and transported him directly to the Haluaghat Upazila Health Complex to receive emergency medical attention. However, upon arrival at the medical facility, the attending doctor on duty conducted an assessment and officially pronounced him dead.
The deceased, Helal, was a married individual and the father of a young child. His unexpected demise has left his immediate family members in a state of severe grief and mourning. The emotional distress and laments of the relatives at the medical facility created a somber environment across the entire hospital premises following the official confirmation of his death.

Upon receiving detailed information regarding the homicide, senior law enforcement officials moved quickly to assess the situation. The Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Haluaghat Police Station, Ferdous Alam, alongside the Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) for the Haluaghat Circle, Mizanur Rahman, initiated immediate field operations. The senior officers personally visited the specific crime scene adjacent to the land office to preserve evidence and subsequently inspected the hospital facility where the victim’s body was being held.
The police administration has confirmed that the exact underlying motive behind the fatal stabbing remains undetermined at this initial stage of the inquiry. OC Ferdous Alam publicly stated that the formal process for filing a criminal case regarding the murder is currently underway at the police station.
