114 Civilians Killed in Israeli Strikes in Lebanon

The United Nations Office for Human Rights has reported that, in violation of the November 2024 ceasefire agreement, continuous Israeli attacks in Lebanon have so far claimed the lives of 114 civilians.

Spokesperson Thamin Al-Khitan told Anadolu that Israeli airstrikes on buildings in various villages in southern Lebanon have been under observation, and civilian casualties have continued to rise even after the ceasefire came into effect.

He stated that the deadly impact on civilians must be halted immediately. He also highlighted that residents in border areas have been living under instability and fear for more than two years.

Thamin Al-Khitan urged strict adherence to the ceasefire agreement and international human rights law.

The Israeli forces have been conducting attacks in Lebanon since October 2023, escalating to full-scale operations by September 2024. These attacks have so far resulted in over four thousand deaths and approximately seventeen thousand injuries.
