Financial Report Published by KUSIK Administrator 28 Days After Taking Office

Twenty-eight days after assuming office, the newly appointed administrator of Comilla City Corporation, Yousuf Molla Tipu, has presented a detailed account of the organisation’s revenue income, expenditure, and the progress of ongoing development projects.

The information was disclosed at a press conference held on Sunday (12 April) at the Atindra Mohan Roy Conference Hall of Comilla City Corporation. Senior officials, including Chief Executive Officer Md Mamun and Executive Engineer Abu Sayeem Bhuiyan, were present at the event.

During the briefing, the administrator stated that as of 15 March, the city corporation’s revenue income stood at Tk 61 crore 22 lakh 65 thousand 664, while expenditure amounted to Tk 37 crore 93 lakh 16 thousand 986. This resulted in a current balance of Tk 23 crore 29 lakh 48 thousand 678 in the revenue account.

He further outlined the financial position of several development-related projects under the corporation. According to him, significant funds remain allocated under multiple schemes, with ongoing procurement and implementation activities already in progress.

The administrator also noted that under the Annual Development Programme, tenders worth Tk 41 crore 85 lakh have been invited for 109 development projects. These initiatives are intended to support infrastructure development and improve civic services within the city corporation area.

Yousuf Molla Tipu further stated that, in the interest of transparency and accountability, financial reports of Comilla City Corporation will be made public every three months. He emphasised that regular disclosure of revenue and expenditure data is part of ongoing administrative practice aimed at ensuring financial clarity in municipal governance.

Officials present at the briefing confirmed that project implementation activities under various development schemes are currently underway, with monitoring mechanisms in place to oversee procurement and execution processes.
