A highly disturbing and brutal crime scene has been discovered in the rural outskirts of Gafargaon Upazila, Mymensingh District, Bangladesh, where the body of an unidentified middle-aged man was found tied to a tree with his hands bound behind his back, while his severed head lay close to his feet.
According to police and local sources, residents of Pagla Police Station Area, Bangladesh under Moshakhali Union of Dori Charbari village spotted the decomposed body at around 9:00 a.m. on Thursday in the Shahakanda Bhita locality. The gruesome discovery immediately caused panic in the area, prompting locals to alert law enforcement authorities.
Police from the nearby station arrived shortly after receiving the information and secured the scene. Preliminary observations revealed that the victim was wearing trousers but had no shirt on his upper body. Multiple deep slash wounds were visible on his chest, suggesting a violent assault prior to death. The man’s severed head was found placed on the ground near the body, indicating an extreme level of brutality.
Locals have expressed strong suspicion that the victim may have been abducted from elsewhere, brought to the secluded area, and then murdered on site. The remote nature of the location has further reinforced the belief that the perpetrators chose the area deliberately to avoid detection.

Speaking on the incident, Mymensingh Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration) Md Abdullah Al Mamun stated that the area is extremely remote, which may have been chosen intentionally to conceal the crime. He added that it is highly possible the victim was brought from another location and murdered at the scene.
Specialised teams from the Police Bureau of Investigation and the Criminal Investigation Department have been deployed to assist in identifying the victim and determining the circumstances surrounding the killing.
