Dhaka Central University Publishes Arts and Social Sciences Results

The admissions committee of Dhaka Central University—a major academic consortium comprising seven premier government colleges in the capital—has officially released the undergraduate admission test results for the Arts and Social Sciences unit. The outcome for the 2025–2026 academic year was made available to the public shortly after 9:00 pm on Sunday, 12 July.

Candidates anxious to discover their academic fate can now access their scores through the university’s official online admissions portal. To view individual performance metrics and merit positions, applicants must log into the system using their unique examination serial numbers and confidential passwords. The digital release aims to provide immediate and transparent access to results for tens of thousands of hopeful students scattered across the country, replacing the anxiety of a long wait with a swift, streamlined digital notification process.

The publication follows swiftly on the heels of the entry examination, which was conducted on the afternoon of Saturday, 11 July. The testing phase required a massive logistical deployment across various affiliated centres in the capital to accommodate the high volume of students. During the examination, the Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka Central University, Professor Dr Md Nurul Islam, conducted an official inspection of the testing facilities at Dhaka College. Speaking to the press during his visit, he expressed satisfaction with the administrative arrangements and noted an impressive attendance rate of approximately 90 per cent among registered candidates.

Securing a spot in the Arts and Social Sciences unit remains a highly competitive endeavour. Official figures released by the university administration indicate that 23,365 aspiring undergraduates applied to sit the entrance examination for this specific academic track. However, the unit only has a capacity of 4,498 seats spread across the seven constituent colleges. This translates to an intense battle for admission, with roughly five candidates competing for every single available placement. Such high demand underscores the continued popularity and prestige of humanities and social science disciplines among youth seeking higher education in Dhaka.

With the arts assessment successfully concluded and its results now public, the university administration is rapidly shifting its focus to the remaining entry tests. Candidates opting for the Science and Business Studies units are scheduled to sit their respective examinations later this week, on Friday, 17 July. To manage the immense influx of examinees and ensure a secure, strictly monitored testing environment, the authorities have divided the assessments into distinct time slots. The Science unit examination will take place in the morning, running from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. Subsequently, the Business Studies assessment will be held in the afternoon, between 3:00 pm and 4:00 pm.

For thousands of students, gaining admission to Dhaka Central University represents a critical milestone, offering a pathway to quality, publicly funded higher education in the heart of the nation. As the week progresses, anticipation will inevitably mount for the science and commerce applicants preparing to face their own academic hurdles.
