Badshah and Isha Rikhi End Marriage After Five Months

Indian rapper Badshah and Punjabi actress Isha Rikhi have announced that they are ending their marriage, just five months after reportedly tying the knot in a private ceremony.

The couple confirmed their separation through matching statements shared on their Instagram Stories on Monday night, 31 August. Their announcement brought an end to weeks of speculation surrounding the state of their relationship.

Badshah said that he and Isha had mutually decided to separate and move forward on their respective paths. He stressed that the decision had been taken with mutual respect and appealed to the public to respect their privacy during what he described as a personal period.

He also asked people not to engage in further speculation or make assumptions about their relationship. Neither Badshah nor Isha publicly disclosed a specific reason for the separation.

The couple had reportedly married in March in a private family ceremony. Their relationship, however, remained largely away from the public spotlight. Isha later confirmed the marriage herself during an ‘Ask Me Anything’ session on Instagram in June.

Questions about their relationship began circulating more widely in July. At the time, Isha shared a montage featuring several photographs and videos of herself and Badshah. The accompanying caption referred to storms bringing lessons and prayers bringing hope. She also used broken-heart and prayer emojis with the post.

The message prompted some social media users to speculate that the couple might be facing difficulties. There was no direct confirmation from either of them at the time that their marriage was under strain.

More recently, Isha’s mother, Poonam Rikhi, also shared several social media posts referring to karma. Those posts attracted attention online, although there was no public confirmation that they were connected to Isha’s marriage or the couple’s personal circumstances.

The separation announcement has also emerged amid reports linking Isha to the upcoming twentieth season of the reality television programme ‘Bigg Boss’, hosted by Salman Khan. Her name had been mentioned in speculation about possible contestants, although her participation had not been officially confirmed in the information available in the original report.

For Badshah, whose career has been built around Hindi and Punjabi music, this is his second marriage to end in divorce. He was previously married to Jasmine Masih. The couple divorced in 2020 and have a daughter together.

Badshah and Isha have now made it clear that they intend to pursue separate paths. Their joint position is that the decision was mutual and based on respect, while their request for privacy signals that neither currently wishes to publicly discuss the personal circumstances behind the separation.
