Veteran Bangladeshi composer and music director Arman Khan, once a prominent and highly influential figure in the country’s music scene, is making a notable return after a prolonged hiatus. He is set to release a new football-themed song titled “Football Football” on 10 June, marking his re-entry into mainstream music production.
The upcoming track has been voiced by rock vocalist Vijay Mamun, best known as the lead singer of the band Vijay. The lyrics and composition have been entirely crafted by Arman Khan himself. Production work for the accompanying music video has already been completed, with the project aiming to capture the global excitement and emotional intensity that typically surrounds the FIFA World Cup.
According to those involved in the production, the song is designed to reflect the celebratory atmosphere and universal passion associated with football tournaments, particularly the World Cup, which brings together audiences from diverse cultures and nations.
Arman Khan is currently residing in Srimangal, Sylhet, due to professional commitments outside the music industry. Although he stepped back from regular music production for several years, he has remained creatively engaged. In November last year, he established a private studio at the Grand Sultan Tea Resort and Golf, where he has resumed composing and working on new musical projects during his spare time.
Speaking about his return, Khan noted that his professional responsibilities had limited his ability to produce music consistently in recent years. However, he has now begun working regularly again and expressed optimism about delivering more quality compositions in the future. He also highlighted that it has been approximately 14 years since one of his written and composed songs was released in another artist’s voice, making this comeback particularly significant for him.
Vocalist Vijay Mamun described the collaboration as a dream opportunity. He stated that he grew up listening to Arman Khan’s compositions and was deeply inspired by the legendary works performed by iconic Bangladeshi artists such as James, Ayub Bachchu, Hasan, and Biplob, all of whom have interpreted Khan’s music at various stages of his career.
The project has been sponsored by Universal Medical College Hospital and will be released under the music label Sangeeta. Early interest among both football enthusiasts and music audiences has been strong, suggesting a positive reception ahead of its launch.
Arman Khan’s career spans several decades and includes extensive contributions to band music, modern songs, and television scoring. He is also the son of the legendary composer Alam Khan and was born in Dhaka on 3 February 1977. During the late 1990s and early 2000s, he gained widespread recognition for his work in Bangladesh’s contemporary music scene.
