In the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Peshawar Zalmi secured an eight-wicket victory over Quetta Gladiators, during which their captain Babar Azam reached a significant individual milestone. The right-handed batter remained unbeaten on 71 off 51 balls and, in the process, registered his 100th fifty in T20 cricket.
With this achievement, Babar Azam became only the fourth batter in T20 history to reach the landmark of 100 half-centuries. Prior to him, the milestone had been attained by Australia’s David Warner, India’s Virat Kohli and England’s Jos Buttler. He also became the first Pakistani cricketer to feature in this elite list.

Babar Azam’s consistency in the ongoing PSL season has also been notable. He is among only two batters who have crossed the 300-run mark so far. Across six innings, he has accumulated 301 runs. His teammate Kusal Mendis leads the chart with 330 runs from the same number of innings, while Babar sits second.
Among the top ten run-scorers of the tournament, Babar holds the highest batting average at 75.25. However, among the top five run-scorers, his strike rate of 132.59 is the lowest.

His team, Peshawar Zalmi, strengthened their position at the top of the standings after the victory over Quetta Gladiators, accumulating 13 points from seven matches. Multan Sultans are second with eight points from six matches, while Islamabad United hold third place with seven points from an equal number of games.
