Gujarat Titans secured their place in the Indian Premier League final after completing a successful chase of 215 runs against Rajasthan Royals, despite an outstanding innings from Vaibhav Suryavanshi. Gujarat will now face Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the tournament final.
Rajasthan Royals posted a formidable total of 214 runs, largely thanks to a remarkable innings from Suryavanshi. Batting on a challenging surface against one of the competition’s strongest bowling attacks, he produced 96 runs from 47 deliveries. His innings included eight fours and seven sixes and once again demonstrated the consistency he maintained throughout the season.
Suryavanshi’s contribution formed the backbone of Rajasthan’s innings. He was supported by Ravindra Jadeja, who scored 45 runs, while Donovan Ferreira added a rapid 38. Their efforts helped Rajasthan surpass the 200-run mark and set a demanding target for Gujarat Titans.
However, Gujarat responded with an aggressive approach from the outset of their chase. Openers Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan immediately put the Rajasthan bowlers under pressure and established a partnership that proved decisive in determining the outcome of the match.
The pair added 167 runs for the opening wicket, laying a strong platform for the chase. Sudharsan contributed 58 runs before being dismissed, while captain Gill continued to anchor the innings. Gill went on to score 104 runs, reaching a century and guiding his side towards victory.
Gujarat eventually reached 219 for 3 in just 18.4 overs, sealing a seven-wicket win with eight balls remaining. The successful pursuit of 215 runs ranks among the largest successful run chases recorded in a Twenty20 knockout or play-off match.
