Bangladeshi composer Habib Wahid and folk singer Kaya have reunited for a new musical release, ending a 22-year professional hiatus. The upcoming single, titled “Koi Roila Re”, is scheduled to premiere on Wednesday, 27 May 2026, on Habib Wahid’s official YouTube channel. The track also features young musician Muza, creating a collaborative project that spans three generations of Bangladeshi artists.
Historical Collaboration and Evolution
The partnership between Habib Wahid and Kaya first gained prominence in 2003 with the release of the fusion album Krishno, which combined traditional Bengali folk music with modern pop arrangements. In 2004, Habib produced another folk-fusion album titled Maya, featuring vocal tracks by both Kaya and Helal.

“I am very excited about this track because it represents the first piece of work featuring Kaya Bhai to be released in nearly 22 years. While the initial vocal recordings were completed a considerable time ago, the musical style and production approach have been completely updated to match current contemporary trends.”

The single connects different eras of the domestic music industry. Muza, a contemporary artist, noted that he was inspired during his youth by listening to the Krishno and Maya albums. Additionally, both Kaya and Muza share a cultural connection to the Sylhet region, which is historically significant for its contribution to Bangladeshi folk music.

“This will stand as a great memory for the future. I started my career working with Sylheti songs through Kaya Bhai, and Muza is also from the Sylhet region, having grown up inspired by Kaya Bhai’s early albums.
