National Life Insurance Company Limited has processed and settled the group life insurance death claims for two deceased members of the Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU). The financial payouts were executed under the mutual group insurance policy enacted to safeguard the welfare of the organisation’s members.
The formal cheque handover ceremony was conducted on Tuesday, 19 May 2026, at the Shofiqul Kabir Auditorium located within the DRU headquarters. The families of the late journalists, Nikhil Mankhin and Shyamal Kanti Nag, were presented with two individual cheques worth BDT 300,000 each, bringing the total financial disbursement to BDT 600,000.
