According to police sources and local accounts, the victim regularly attended the madrassa for studies. On Wednesday afternoon, the accused headmaster allegedly lured the child into an isolated part of the premises and attempted to assault her. The terrified child began screaming for help, which immediately alerted individuals nearby.

As the commotion drew attention, neighbours and parents rushed to the scene. Realising that their actions had been discovered, the accused teacher attempted to evade the unfolding situation, but an agitated crowd quickly cornered him. The incident rapidly triggered widespread anger throughout the neighbourhood, prompting concerned residents to contact the Savar Model Police Station straight away.

A mobile patrol team from the police station arrived at the scene shortly after receiving the call. Officers managed to calm the volatile situation and took the accused teacher into custody, safely transporting him to the police station. Following the incident, the victim’s family formally lodged a written complaint at the station, initiating the legal process.

Saiful Islam, the officer-in-charge (OC) of Savar Model Police Station, confirmed the arrest. He stated that investigators are currently verifying the accusations through a thorough preliminary inquiry. Police officials reiterated that the safety and protection of children remain a top priority, and appropriate legal measures will be pursued against the perpetrator once the investigation concludes. The local community has since urged for stringent security measures and proper oversight across all local educational facilities to prevent such distressing incidents from recurring.
