Meghna Life Insurance PLC’s Islamic Insurance (Takaful) Division has paid a death claim amounting to Tk 30,51,200 in Bogura.
The cheque was handed over on Sunday (19 April) at a ceremony held at Hotel Castle Saoad in the city. The payment was made to the nominee, Ms Akhiyara Khatun, of the deceased policyholder Mr Majnur Rahman.
The formal cheque handover took place in the presence of senior officials of Meghna Life Insurance PLC. The event was graced by the company’s Acting Chief Executive Officer, Mr Mohammad Tareq FCA, as the chief guest.
During the programme, Mr Tareq reiterated the company’s focus on maintaining policyholders’ trust and ensuring prompt settlement of legitimate insurance claims. He stated that the organisation remains committed to safeguarding the financial interests of customers and their families.
He also provided an update on the company’s overall claims settlement record, noting that Meghna Life Insurance PLC has so far paid a total of Tk 4,428 crore in insurance claims. Of this amount, death claims have been disbursed to the families of 18,822 policyholders.
The event was arranged by the Bogura Zonal Office of Meghna Life Insurance PLC. It was attended by local senior officials of the company, invited guests, and representatives from various media outlets.
