Bangladeshi singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Nafeez Al Amin is preparing for the launch of his latest musical project, a four-track Extended Play (EP) entitled Beshi Joss. The independent release serves as a compilation of musical ideas spanning more than two decades, brought to fruition through extensive creative partnerships with a diverse group of prominent artists from both the domestic Bangladeshi music industry and international circuits.
Home-Studio Production and Creative Scope
The entirety of the tracking and audio engineering for Beshi Joss was conducted independently within Nafeez’s private home studio. In a departure from common electronic production methods for independent records, all instrumentation—including full acoustic drum kits—was miked, performed, and captured directly in-house.
The active tracking, arrangement, and assembly of the record required three months of focused studio tracking. However, the foundational songwriting and arrangements for some of the tracks date back to 2004. Rather than adhering to a singular musical classification, the project intentionally synthesises a variety of distinct genres and performance styles.
Nafeez acted as the principal lyricist for the EP, writing the text for three of the inclusions. The remaining track, “Shomoyke Chariye”, features lyrics written by Ashfaque Pallab.
Guest Musicians and Personnel
The EP features a notable cross-border roster of guest performers, blending established figures from the Bangladeshi heavy music scene with session musicians from the Americas:
| Musician | Affiliation / Country |
| Samir Hafiz | Warfaze / Powersurge (Bangladesh) |
| Pritom | Owned (Bangladesh) |
| Maheyan | Conclusion (Bangladesh) |
| Asif Ranan | Independent Artist (Bangladesh) |
| Marco | Session Instrumentalist (Argentina) |
| Ken Andrews | Obituary (United States) |
Long-Term Strategic Plans and Touring
Commenting on the technical demands of the production cycle, Nafeez characterised the three months of recording as an intensive period of physical and creative exertion, noting the personal significance of finally documenting compositions preserved since 2004.
The release of Beshi Joss marks the initial stage of a long-term commercial strategy. Nafeez intends to systematically issue further digital singles over the coming months, with the eventual goal of incorporating these sessions into a comprehensive, full-length debut studio album.
To promote the material, the songwriter is organising a live performance framework. The promotional campaign will involve touring across various states, alongside scheduled appearances at regional multicultural arts festivals and multi-billing concert events.
