A scheduled electricity shutdown will affect several areas of Dhamrai in Dhaka on Monday, 18 May, as authorities undertake conductor replacement work on a 33 kV transmission line alongside emergency maintenance operations.
According to an official notice issued on Sunday afternoon (17 May), electricity supply will remain suspended from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, resulting in a continuous nine-hour outage in the affected areas. The announcement was confirmed by Lipiia Khatun, Deputy General Manager of the Dhamrai Zonal Office under Dhaka Palli Bidyut Samity-3.

Authorities said electricity supply will be suspended across the entire Bhararia 33 kV (ACMI) service area. In addition, consumers connected to Feeders 1, 3, 8, 9, and 10 under the Dhamrai substation will also experience service interruption.
Areas expected to remain without electricity include Chhoto Chandrail, Boro Chandrail, Khatra, Chhoybaria, Barigao, Bashail, Kulla, Jalsin, Taltala, Islampur, Kumrail, Hospital Road, Notun Dakshinpara, Thana Complex, Upazila Health Complex, Amin Model Town, Barotnagar, Barot Centre, Dhansiri Residential Area, and Dhulivita.
