NRBC Bank partners BRAC Saajan for remittance services

NRBC Bank PLC has formalised a remittance distribution agreement with BRAC Saajan Exchange Ltd, United Kingdom, aimed at facilitating the transfer of funds sent by Bangladeshi expatriates to their beneficiaries in Bangladesh through formal banking channels.

According to a press release issued by NRBC Bank PLC, the signing ceremony was held on Monday (20 April 2026) at the bank’s head office. The agreement was concluded between the two organisations as part of their ongoing efforts to strengthen international remittance services and expand access to regulated financial transfer systems.

The agreement was signed by Dr Md Touhidul Alam Khan, FCMA, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NRBC Bank PLC, on behalf of the bank, and Abdus Salam, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of BRAC Saajan Exchange Limited, United Kingdom, on behalf of the exchange house.

Under the arrangement, Bangladeshi expatriates residing in various countries will be able to remit money more securely and efficiently to Bangladesh. The transferred funds will be distributed to beneficiaries through NRBC Bank PLC’s nationwide network, which includes its branches and sub-branches. The initiative is intended to support faster delivery of remittances while ensuring that transactions are processed through authorised financial channels.

The signing ceremony was attended by senior officials from both institutions. From NRBC Bank PLC, participants included Mohammad Abdul Qaium Khan, Deputy Managing Director; Hasnat Reza Mohibbul Alam, Head of International Division; Md Abdul Gafur Raana, Head of Treasury; and representatives of the bank’s Islamic Window, including Al Amin. From BRAC Saajan Exchange Ltd, UK, Md Marzanur Rahman, Head of Operations, and Kallol Biswas, Manager (Operations), were present, alongside other senior officials.

The agreement reflects continued cooperation between Bangladeshi banking institutions and overseas exchange houses in managing remittance inflows through structured financial systems. Such arrangements are typically designed to improve accessibility for expatriate workers and ensure that remittance proceeds are channelled through regulated banking networks, thereby supporting beneficiaries in receiving funds efficiently across Bangladesh.
