SBAC Bank PLC has arranged a comprehensive, day-long workshop on financial management to strengthen the operational and managerial capacity of women entrepreneurs engaged in the CMSME sector. The programme was conducted under the supervision of Bangladesh Bank, reflecting continued institutional emphasis on inclusive financial development.
Held on Sunday, 19 April 2026, the workshop took place at the Shrimp Research Center of the Bangladesh Fisheries Research Institute in Bagerhat. The event convened a wide range of participants, including women entrepreneurs, senior banking officials, and representatives from the central bank, fostering a platform for knowledge-sharing and practical learning.
Md. Rokanuzzaman, Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank’s Khulna Office, attended as the chief guest. In his address, he highlighted the critical role of financial literacy and disciplined fund management in ensuring long-term business viability for small and medium enterprises. He also noted that empowering women entrepreneurs contributes significantly to balanced economic growth.
S. M. Kamaluzzaman Kamal, Director (Inspection) at Bangladesh Bank, Khulna, was present as the special guest. He emphasised the importance of regulatory oversight and prudent financial practices in maintaining stability within the CMSME sector, particularly for emerging women-led enterprises.
The technical session was conducted by Riazul Islam, Additional Director of the SME and Special Programmes Department of Bangladesh Bank, Khulna, who served as the lead speaker. His session covered essential aspects of financial management, including credit planning, risk mitigation, loan utilisation, and maintaining proper financial records—areas considered fundamental for sustainable enterprise development.
The workshop was presided over by S. M. Mainul Kabir, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of SBAC Bank PLC. He reiterated the bank’s commitment to promoting women’s entrepreneurship by offering tailored financial solutions, advisory support, and capacity-building initiatives designed to meet the evolving needs of CMSMEs.
Among the senior officials present were Md. Mofazzal Mamun Khan, Chief Technology Officer and Senior Executive Vice President; Md. Rashed Akter, Head of Retail Distribution Division and SEVP; and Mohammad Abdul Mannan, Head of Credit Risk Management Division and Executive Vice President. They were joined by branch managers, credit in-charges from the Khulna region, and participating entrepreneurs.
