Meghna Bank Opens DPDC Booth in Dhanmondi

Meghna Bank PLC has launched a bill collection booth of the Dhaka Power Distribution Company (DPDC) at Satmasjid Road in the Dhanmondi area of Dhaka, with the aim of improving access to utility bill payment services and ensuring greater convenience for electricity consumers.

According to a press release, the booth was formally inaugurated at a recent programme held at the site. The inauguration was conducted by Momtazul Karim N Ahmed, Deputy Managing Director of Meghna Bank PLC, and Md. Tariqul Hoque, Chief Engineer (NOCS North). The initiative is designed to facilitate faster and more accessible payment of electricity bills for DPDC customers in the surrounding locality.

The DPDC, responsible for electricity distribution in a major part of Dhaka city, regularly engages in service expansion measures to improve customer experience and reduce pressure on centralised payment points. The establishment of additional bill collection booths in accessible urban locations is part of ongoing efforts to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery.

Senior representatives from both organisations were present at the inauguration ceremony. Among them were Samiul Kabir, Head of Retail Banking of Meghna Bank PLC, and Engr. Afazzal Haque, Executive Engineer (NOCS Satmasjid). Other senior officials from both Meghna Bank PLC and DPDC also attended the event, reflecting institutional cooperation between the banking sector and utility service providers.
