A 17-year-old school student was fatally stabbed in Bogra following an altercation regarding a football match. The incident occurred on Thursday, 21 May, at approximately 12:00 pm in front of Nowkhila P.N. High School, located in the Sariakandi Upazila. The deceased has been identified as Abdullah Saim Mustakim, a ninth-grade science stream student at the institution. He was the son of the late Joynal Abedin, residing in Ghughumari village under the Chandanbaisha Union of the upazila.

According to accounts provided by local residents and school classmates, the altercation originated a few days prior to the incident. Mustakim had engaged in a verbal dispute concerning a football match with Shahadat Hossain, a tenth-grade student from Nizamuddin High School.
The unresolved dispute culminated on Thursday midday when Shahadat Hossain, accompanied by his father, Shaha Ali, intercepted Mustakim. Finding him alone in front of Nowkhila P.N. High School, the duo launched an assault on the victim. During the altercation, Shahadat stabbed Mustakim with a sharp weapon, leaving him critically injured on the spot.
