Students Flock to Bangladesh International Education Fair

The second day of the Bangladesh International Education Fair 2026, held at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in Dhaka, drew another overwhelming turnout of students and parents eager to explore overseas higher education opportunities. Organisers estimated that around 10,000 visitors attended the fair on Friday (24 July), seeking first-hand information on university admissions, scholarships, education loans, visa procedures and career planning.

The three-day exhibition, which began on Thursday, is taking place at ICCB’s Gulnaksha Hall. According to the organisers, representatives from more than 2,500 universities across over 45 countries are participating through 35 exhibition stalls, offering prospective students direct access to institutions from some of the world’s most popular study destinations.

Visitors spent the day meeting university representatives from the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, various European countries and Malaysia, gathering detailed information on admission requirements, tuition fees, scholarship opportunities and the overall cost of studying abroad. Many students also sought guidance on English language proficiency tests, student visa applications and long-term academic and career planning, allowing them to better understand the practical steps involved in pursuing an international education.

This year’s fair features dedicated pavilions showcasing educational institutions from Europe, Malaysia and the United Kingdom, making it easier for visitors to compare study options by region. Alongside the student-focused activities, the event also includes business-to-business meetings and networking sessions, enabling universities, educational consultants and industry representatives to strengthen professional partnerships and exchange ideas.

Financial planning has also been a major focus of the exhibition. Several banks are providing information on education financing for students intending to study overseas. Mehdi Islam, an official at NCC Bank, said visitors are receiving guidance on education loans of up to Tk 2 million, available under comparatively accessible terms and conditions. The banking representatives are also answering questions about loan eligibility, documentation requirements and repayment arrangements, helping families better assess the financial aspects of overseas study.

Students attending the fair described the event as a valuable opportunity to compare universities without having to contact each institution separately.

Mehedi Hasan, a student of Titumir College, said speaking directly with representatives from universities in so many countries under one roof had made the decision-making process far easier. He added that receiving accurate information firsthand had given him greater confidence in planning his future studies abroad.

Tasnia Rahman, a student at North South University, echoed that view, saying direct conversations with university representatives had provided much clearer insights into scholarship opportunities, admission criteria and application procedures. She believes the information gathered at the fair will help her make more informed decisions about her academic future.

Mahmud Galib, Chief Executive Officer of Fair Convenor International, said the strong attendance reflected the growing interest among Bangladeshi students in pursuing higher education overseas. He noted that the event had been designed to provide a reliable platform where students and parents could obtain trustworthy information directly from recognised institutions rather than relying solely on online sources or intermediaries.

Ashikur Rahman Tanvir, the organisation’s Director of Events and Sales, said the three-day fair concludes on Saturday (25 July) and remains open to visitors until 8:00 pm. He encouraged students and parents to take advantage of the opportunity to consult university representatives and education specialists before making important decisions about studying abroad.

Organisers believe ICCB has become one of Bangladesh’s leading venues for international education fairs, conferences, corporate exhibitions and large-scale events, thanks to its modern infrastructure, spacious facilities and capacity to host major gatherings.
