The tragic incident occurred on Sunday morning at around half-past seven in the Gasline Hat area of the municipality along the Ullapara-Mohanpur regional highway. The victim, Mosharraf Hossain, served as an assistant teacher at Suja Government Primary School in Ullapara. He was the son of Kamrul Hasan, a resident of Kaliakoir village within the same upazila. Known for his dedication and amicable nature, his untimely demise has left his colleagues and students deeply shaken.

According to eyewitnesses and local accounts, Mosharraf was riding his motorcycle towards Lahiri Mohanpur in the morning. At the same time, a heavy twelve-wheeler truck loaded with stones was travelling in the same direction. While attempting to overtake the truck, Mosharraf was forced to brake suddenly to avoid a collision with an oncoming passenger auto-rickshaw coming from the opposite direction. The abrupt maneuver caused him to lose control of his motorcycle, and he fell onto the paved road. The moving truck immediately ran over him, resulting in his instantaneous death at the scene.

The accident caused a temporary disruption in traffic flow along the regional highway as a crowd gathered. Local police officers arrived promptly at the location following reports of the crash. They recovered the teacher’s body, transported it to the police station, and cleared the road to restore normal vehicle movement. Both the damaged motorcycle and the killer truck were seized by the authorities. However, the driver and his assistant managed to flee the scene immediately after the accident occurred.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ullapara Police Station, Md. Mehedi Hasan, stated that police responded swiftly upon receiving the news, recovered the body, and brought the situation under control. Law enforcement personnel are actively working to identify and apprehend the fugitive truck driver and his assistant. Legal procedures regarding the incident are currently underway.
