The Akkelpur Police Department has recovered the body of an unidentified man from a paddy field in the Akkelpur Upazila of Joypurhat district. On Tuesday, 12 May, the body was found partially buried in the Nischinta crop field, located within Naojor village. Authorities believe the victim was murdered before his remains were concealed in the field with his hands and feet bound.

Discovery and Police Intervention
The discovery was made on Tuesday afternoon after local residents spotted human remains in the agricultural area. Following a call to the National Emergency Service (999), a police team was dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, officers found the body buried in the ground; however, the burial was shallow, and the victim’s legs were protruding from the soil.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Akkelpur Police Station, Shahin Reza, confirmed the incident to the press. He stated that the police have secured the area and initiated the recovery process. Preliminary examinations at the site revealed visible injury marks on several parts of the victim’s body, reinforcing the suspicion of a violent struggle or targeted homicide.
