Inspector General of Police (IGP) Md. Ali Hossain Fakir has warned that no member of the police force will be spared if found involved in drug-related activities. He delivered the warning on Tuesday afternoon while addressing a ceremony at Rajarbagh Police Lines in the capital, where IGP badges, shield parade awards, and prizes were presented to units recognised for weapons and narcotics recovery operations.
In his speech as chief guest, the IGP described narcotics as a major threat to the country’s youth and future generations. He stated, “Drugs are a major challenge for our youth and the future of the nation. Police are working with the highest level of sincerity and efficiency to address this challenge.”
Referring to Bangladesh Police as a traditional and professional force, Ali Hossain Fakir said that every police member continues to work tirelessly to maintain law and order, ensure public safety, and suppress crime across the country. He added that the officers receiving awards had further strengthened that tradition through courage, dedication, and professionalism. The IGP also urged all members of the force to continue discharging their duties with greater commitment in the national interest.
During the event, a total of 341 police personnel, ranging from constables to additional deputy inspectors general, were awarded the Police Force Exemplary Good Service Badge (IG’s Badge) in recognition of outstanding and commendable service performed between 1 March last year and 28 February of the current year.
