Bangladesh has completed the registration of 76,580 pilgrims for the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage, according to officials from the Ministry of Religious Affairs. Among them, 72,344 pilgrims are registered through private agencies, while 4,236 are registered under government arrangements. The Saudi authorities have allocated a total of 78,500 Hajj quotas for Bangladesh this year.

Senior Information Officer of the Ministry, Md. Abubakar Siddique, stated, “In addition to the general pilgrims, medical teams, Hajj guides, administrative and technical staff will also travel to Saudi Arabia to support the pilgrims. The ministry has submitted their lists to the Saudi authorities for approval.”

According to the Hajj Office, the breakdown of pilgrims this year is as follows:

Arrangement TypeNumber of Pilgrims
Private Agencies72,344
Government4,236
Total76,580

Registration for 2026 Hajj began on 27 July 2025, and the final deadline was 16 October 2025, as per Saudi government directives. The Ministry of Religious Affairs has emphasised that all Hajj agencies and airlines must strictly adhere to the management instructions for the pilgrimage.

Flights for the 2026 Hajj are scheduled to commence from 18 April, with three airlines tasked with transporting Bangladeshi pilgrims: Biman Bangladesh Airlines, Saudia Airlines, and Flynas Airlines. Agencies are required to send 20% of pilgrims on pre-Hajj flights, with the remainder distributed across the first and final phases of the flights. No agency is permitted to issue less than 30% or more than 50% of tickets in either the first or last phases.

Saudi regulations also mandate medical fitness certificates for all pilgrims. “Ensuring a smooth Hajj journey depends critically on pilgrims’ health awareness and physical and mental preparedness,” an official said. “Pilgrims should be ready to handle common health challenges during the pilgrimage.”

Bangladeshi pilgrims registered through multiple channels, including the e-Hajj system (www.hajj.gov.bd), Labbaik mobile app, Union Digital Centres, offices of the Islamic Foundation at divisional and district levels, as well as the Baitul Mukarram Hajj Office and Ashkona Hajj Office.

The Ministry has urged all stakeholders to follow the directives meticulously to ensure safe, well-organised, and timely Hajj operations for all Bangladeshis participating in 2026.
