“Nearly 800,000 officials will be on election duty: EC”

The Election Commission (EC) has confirmed that approximately 785,000 officials will be engaged in managing the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election and Referendum, scheduled for Thursday. This represents one of the largest administrative mobilisations in the country’s electoral history, reflecting the scale and importance of ensuring a smooth and transparent voting process.

According to the EC, the nationwide electoral exercise will be managed by 69 Returning Officers and 598 Assistant Returning Officers, who will oversee the proper conduct of polling and ensure adherence to election regulations.
