As-Sunnah Foundation Supports Needy Families This Ramadan

In anticipation of the holy month of Ramadan, the As-Sunnah Foundation has launched an extensive initiative to support underprivileged and marginalised families across Bangladesh. The programme aims to distribute 233 metric tonnes of iftar essentials directly to 33,300 families, ensuring they can break their fasts and enjoy sehri with dignity.

Hands-On Engagement of Students

The foundation has engaged students from its Skill Development Department to actively participate in the initiative. During the pre-election holiday period, these students are assisting with packaging, logistics, and distribution, gaining valuable practical experience while contributing to community welfare. According to the foundation, this dual approach promotes both social responsibility and professional learning.

Distribution Framework

The iftar packages are scheduled to be distributed simultaneously across 627 locations in all 64 districts of the country. The primary objective is to provide needy families with essential food items that will enable them to observe Ramadan comfortably and healthily.

Contents of Iftar Packages

Each iftar package has been carefully curated to meet the nutritional and practical needs of a family during Ramadan.

These carefully designed packages ensure that families have sufficient staples for both iftar and sehri throughout the month.

New Addition: Spiritual Guidance

In a new initiative this year, each family will also receive a copy of the book “27 Acts of Ramadan”. The publication offers guidance on key practices, ethical principles, and spiritual development during the holy month. The foundation believes this addition will enhance both the religious awareness and moral understanding of recipients.

Foundation Goals and Future Plans

The As-Sunnah Foundation emphasises that this programme represents a broader commitment to uplifting marginalised communities. Officials stated that beyond providing food, the initiative promotes ethical values, compassion, and social cohesion, while also nurturing a sense of humanitarian responsibility among participating students.

The foundation has pledged to continue such welfare-oriented activities in the future, with the aim of improving the quality of life for disadvantaged families nationwide.
