Couple Arrested with Yaba Tablets

Police in Borhanuddin upazila of Bhola district have arrested a married couple in possession of Yaba tablets during a targeted operation.

The arrests were made on Saturday evening (2 May) in the Mulaipattan area under Ward No. 9 of Tabgi Union. Acting on specific information, law enforcement personnel conducted a raid at a residential property, where the couple was taken into custody along with the illegal substances.

The individuals arrested have been identified as Md. Zakir Hossain, aged 38, and his wife Taslima Begum, aged 35. Both are residents of the Mulaipattan area within Borhanuddin upazila.

According to police statements, a search of their residence led to the recovery of 700 Yaba tablets. Following the seizure, both suspects were detained at the scene and subsequently transferred to police custody for further legal procedures.

Borhanuddin Police Station Officer-in-Charge Moniruzzaman confirmed the operation and the arrests. He stated that the raid resulted in the recovery of 700 pieces of Yaba tablets from the accused’s home. He further added that a case has been filed against the couple under the Narcotics Control Act, and that anti-narcotics operations in the area will continue.

The case is now under investigation, and police have indicated that further inquiries are ongoing to determine whether the arrested individuals have any connections to wider drug distribution networks operating in the region.
