According to the statement, Mr Chowdhury brings extensive experience in the banking sector, beginning his career in 1994 as a Probationary Officer at IFIC Bank. This initial role marked the start of his long-standing professional journey in banking.
He later spent approximately two decades at Southeast Bank, where he held several key positions. His responsibilities included serving as Principal, Manager of the Dhanmondi Branch, and working within the Foreign Trade Services Division, among other roles. Through these assignments, he was engaged in branch management and foreign trade-related banking operations.
In January 2023, he joined The Premier Bank as Deputy Managing Director (DMD), where he continued to work in a senior management capacity until his latest appointment at SBAC Bank PLC.
Mr Chowdhury holds both Bachelor’s (Honours) and Master’s degrees in International Relations from the University of Dhaka. In addition to his academic qualifications, he has participated in various seminars and training workshops on economics and banking, both in Bangladesh and abroad.
