
The Executive Committee of the Dhaka University Mass Communication and Journalism Alumni Association (DUMCAA) for the 2026–28 term has been formed through direct voting by its members.
In the election, Ilias Khan, Adviser Editor of Times of Bangladesh, was elected President, while Shahnaz Sharmin Rinvy, Editor of Shadhin Media, was elected General Secretary.

The voting process began at 3:30 pm on Friday in the Sports Room of the Teacher–Student Centre (TSC) at the University of Dhaka and continued until 7:00 pm. Alumni members cast their votes during this period. Following the completion of vote counting, the results were officially announced at 12:00 midnight by Chief Election Commissioner Mahfuzur Rahman.
The newly elected committee comprises office-bearers across multiple categories, including vice-presidents, joint general secretaries, and various secretarial roles.

Tarana Sultana of Stamford University was elected Publication Secretary. Mustafa Mohammad Tahan was elected Cultural Secretary, while Masum Billah of bdnews24.com became Research and Seminar Secretary. Tarak Al Hasan Nirjhor of Prothom Alo was elected Welfare Secretary.
Mahbub Uddin Mujahid Mahi of the Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) was elected Sports Secretary, Mehedi Hasan of Prothom Alo was chosen as Communication Secretary, and Rafiz Khan from State University was elected Office Secretary.
Ten members were elected to the Executive Committee. They are Abul Kalam Azad, Hasan Ullah Khan (Rana Hasan), Anwar Hossain Mojumdar, Sharmin Iffat Shams of Bangladesh Television, Ali Asif Shawon of Dhaka Tribune, Ishratul Jahan, Nazma Binte Alamgir, Waliul Hasan Raktim, Rezaul Karim of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), and Tarek Mahmud.
Mahfuzur Rahman served as Chief Election Commissioner. The Election Commission included Jahid Nowaj Khan, Executive Editor of Channel i; Abu Saleh Akon, President of the Dhaka Reporters Unity; Daulat Akter, President of the Economic Reporters’ Forum; and senior journalist Angur Nahar Monty.
