Two Arrested Over Tourist Harassment

Police in Lalpur, Natore, have arrested two individuals following an incident in which two foreign nationals were reportedly harassed at the Green Valley Park. The arrests were made in the early hours of Sunday, according to the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Lalpur Police Station, Md Shafiqul Islam.

The OC confirmed that two men, identified as Aminul Islam (29) and a person named Russell, have been taken into custody in connection with the incident. Aminul Islam has been formally shown as arrested. He is the son of Tamir Uddin from the Holoidagachi area of Mohonpur Upazila in Rajshahi district.

Regarding the second individual, Russell, police stated that he has been detained and is currently under observation. Authorities noted that his alleged involvement remains under investigation, and further verification is being carried out to determine the extent of his role in the incident. The police also indicated that the matter is being examined carefully to ensure that no uninvolved persons are affected during the inquiry.
