Young Man Beaten to Death in Narsingdi

A 22-year-old man has allegedly been beaten to death in Raipura Upazila of Narsingdi, with police launching an investigation to determine the motive behind the killing and identify those responsible.

The victim, Nasir Mia, was a resident of Jongli Shibpur village in Uttar Bakharnagar Union of Raipura Upazila. His death has left his family in mourning and prompted concern among local residents, while investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

According to police, local residents and eyewitnesses, the fatal assault took place at around 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Officer-in-Charge Md Mujibur Rahman of Raipura Police Station said preliminary information suggests that Nasir died after being assaulted by a group of people. However, the reason behind the attack has not yet been established, and the identities of those involved remain unknown.

After receiving information about the incident, police recovered the injured man and rushed him to Raipura Upazila Health Complex. Doctors on duty examined him and declared him dead shortly after his arrival.

Investigators said that neither the victim’s relatives nor local residents were immediately able to explain why Nasir had been attacked or identify the alleged assailants. As a result, police have not reached any conclusions regarding the motive and are examining all possible aspects of the case before making further statements.

Officer-in-Charge Mujibur Rahman said members of Nasir’s family were being questioned as part of the investigation. Police are also collecting statements from local residents and potential eyewitnesses in an effort to reconstruct the sequence of events and identify those responsible for the killing.

He added that investigators were working to establish both the immediate cause of the assault and the broader circumstances surrounding the incident. At this stage, police have not ruled out any possible motive, and no arrests or suspects have been officially announced.

As part of the legal process, the victim’s body has been sent to the morgue at Narsingdi Sadar Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Police expect the autopsy report to provide additional information that may help determine the precise cause of death and support the ongoing investigation.
