A local leader of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) in Pirojpur’s Mathbaria has been stripped of all party responsibilities following severe allegations of moral turpitude and breaches of organizational discipline.
The disciplined official, Md Mehdi Hasan Mamun, served as the General Secretary of the BNP’s Ward 7 committee within Mathbaria Municipality. His expulsion came after a explicit video featuring him circulated widely across social media platforms, triggering widespread outrage and swift internal condemnation.
The decision was formally announced in an official press release issued on Tuesday, 1 September. The joint statement, bearing the signatures of Mathbaria Municipal BNP President Md Jasim Uddin Faraji and General Secretary Md Mizanur Rahman Mizan, explicitly cited Mamun’s involvement in unethical conduct as the primary reason for his removal. The charter update leaves him completely detached from the party structure, with municipal and ward-level party members strictly instructed to sever all organizational ties with him immediately.
