Inflation further eases to 8.91% in October
Planning Minister MA Mannan made this announcement following the sixth meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) for this fiscal year (FY23) at the NEC Conference Room in the city’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar neighborhood. Mannan cited statistics from the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics. Sheikh Hasina, the prime minister and chair of the ECNEC, physically presided over the meeting.
The wage index increased to 6.91 percent in October as well.
The Minister of Planning added, “Finally, what we said came true. The country’s inflation rate is falling while the pay index is rising; this means that inflation will continue to fall over the next few days.”Mannan responded to a query by saying he was unsure of what would occur in the upcoming year. But suddenly things are going our way.
He claimed that although everyone in the globe, including Bangladesh, is going through a difficult time, the growth outlook is still positive. “I hope the Aman harvest will be good and the inflation will go down much more.” According to State Minister for Planning Dr. Shamsul Alam, a high inflationary trend is currently affecting the entire world. However, it is positive that Bangladesh’s inflation is declining.
