City AL wants to break all records of political rallies in recent memory, The Awami League (AL) of Chattogram City plans to transform the December 4 rally into a human sea in order to smash all previous records for political gatherings. Awami League leaders hoped that on the occasion of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s arrival in Chattogram, the entire city of Chattogram would be buzzing with excitement, not just at the Polo Ground.

This was made known during a lengthy meeting called by the City Awami League to make the necessary preparations, which was held on Sunday morning at the city’s International Convention Center. Sheikh Hasina, president and prime minister of the AL, will be the special guest at the public rally.
The city AL leaders called upon the leaders and workers of the Chattogram city and its 44 organisational units to work for inspiring people in their respective areas with the slogan “Let’s go to Polo Ground, make Sheikh Hasina’s rally a success”. The leaders gave the directives from the meeting of Chattogram City AL at International Convention Centre in the city’s Kazir Dewri area on Sunday morning.
Former Mayor and City AL General Secretary AJM Nasir Uddin, City Mayor and Joint Secretary of City AL Reazaul Karim Chowdhury, AL leader and Deputy MInister for Education Barrister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel, among others, spoke at the lengthy meeting. City AL President Mahtab Uddin Chowdhury presided over the event.
Alhaj Shafiqul Islam Farooq, the city Awami League’s publicity and publication secretary, led the meeting and briefed the presidents, general secretaries, convenors, and joint convenors of the city’s 41 administrative wards and three organizational wards on the ongoing efforts to make Sheikh Hasina’s rally on December 4 a success.
