Admission Tests at Rajshahi University Begin on 20 November

Applications for admission to the first-year undergraduate and honours programmes at Rajshahi University (RU) for the 2025–2026 academic session will commence on 20 November and continue until 6 December. The information was confirmed on Monday (27 October) by Dr Akhtar Hossain Majumder, Administrator of the university’s Public Relations Office.

According to the official admission circular issued by RU, the entrance examinations will be held on the following dates:

  • 16 January 2026: Unit C (Science)
  • 17 January 2026: Unit A (Humanities)
  • 24 January 2026: Unit B (Commerce)

Each day’s examinations will be conducted in two shifts — from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm and from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Examinations will be held in six regional centres across Rajshahi, Dhaka, Chattogram, Khulna, Rangpur, and Barishal.

Faculties and Units

  • Unit A (Humanities): Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Social Sciences, Faculty of Fine Arts, and the Institute of Education and Research.
  • Unit B (Commerce): Faculty of Business Studies and Institute of Business Administration.
  • Unit C (Science): Faculties of Science, Agriculture, Engineering, Life and Earth Sciences, Fisheries, and Veterinary & Animal Sciences.

Eligibility Requirements

Students who passed the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) or equivalent examinations in 2024 or 2025 are eligible to apply for any of the three units, depending on their academic stream.

Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria of the stream from which they completed their HSC or equivalent examination. Candidates who have passed HSC/equivalent, Diploma-in-Commerce, BFA (Preliminary), HSC (Vocational) under the Technical Education Board, or A Level (or equivalent) may apply.

For GCE O and A Level Candidates:

  • Must have passed at least 5 subjects at O Level and 2 subjects at A Level.
  • Out of these 7 subjects, a minimum of 4 must have grade ‘B’ and 3 must have grade ‘C’.
  • Applicants wishing to sit for the English version of the question paper must fill in an additional form during final submission.
  • Additional conditions imposed by specific units, departments, or institutes will also apply.

All applicants fulfilling the required conditions will be eligible to participate in the admission test.

Examination Format

The admission tests will be Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) based, carrying 100 marks and lasting one hour.

  • Each test will contain 80 questions.
  • Negative marking: 1 mark will be deducted for every 4 incorrect answers.
  • Pass mark: 40.
  • Candidates applying under quotas — Freedom Fighters’ descendants, ethnic minorities, persons with disabilities, athletes, and BKSP students — must follow the specific online instructions during application.
