After a Decade, Balam Releases New Album

After more than a decade away from full-length studio releases, acclaimed Bangladeshi singer, composer and producer Balam is set to return with a new solo album this Eid-ul-Fitr. Titled Maula, the album marks a significant moment in his career, not only because of the long hiatus but also because it is his first ever Eid-centric solo project. For many listeners, the release represents both a nostalgic homecoming and a new creative chapter for one of the country’s most recognisable musical voices.

The album comprises six tracks, each distinct in mood, arrangement and sonic texture. While the musical styles vary, they are unified by Balam’s signature emotional depth and melodic sensitivity. In recent years, he has focused largely on releasing individual singles, allowing him to remain present in the public ear. Although the lyricists’ names have not yet been officially announced, it has been confirmed that the album will be released in audio format, with at least one track accompanied by a music video. Despite the long gap between albums, Balam has remained active in the music industry. Alongside releasing singles, he has contributed regularly to film soundtracks, particularly duets that have been well received by audiences.
