Bangladesh’s prominent industrial conglomerate, Akij Resources, has officially opened the first flagship outlet of its retail pharmacy chain, Akij Pharmacy, under its healthcare subsidiary Akij Lifecare, marking a major step in expanding modern pharmaceutical services nationwide.
The inauguration took place on Monday, 15 December 2025, at Ataturk Tower, Kamal Ataturk Avenue, Banani, Dhaka. The ceremony was presided over by actor and medical practitioner Ejazul Islam. Senior officials from Akij Resources and Akij Pharmacy, including Sujan Ghosh, Head of Operations, were present to celebrate the milestone.
Speaking at the event, Chief Business Officer Istiaq Ali Talukdar emphasised the company’s commitment to quality: “Our mission is to provide customers with high-quality medicines and services, supported by cutting-edge technology. We aim to earn customer trust and foster long-term relationships through excellence and reliability.”

Since its establishment in June 2025, Akij Pharmacy has expanded rapidly, now operating 13 outlets across key cities including Dhaka, Sylhet, Khulna, Pabna, and Jashore. The company has ambitious plans to open 500 additional outlets over the next three years, enhancing access to professional healthcare and pharmaceuticals for urban and rural communities alike.
The Banani flagship outlet features a contemporary design, modern pharmacy technology, and a comprehensive range of medicines, wellness products, and health services. Customers can benefit from streamlined prescription services, professional consultations, and a comfortable shopping environment.
