Ambulance Donated from Islami Banking Fund

Midland Bank PLC has significantly enhanced its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) commitment by donating an ambulance to Anjuman Mufidul Islam. This charitable institution is recognised as one of the principal providers of ambulance services in Dhaka, extending its vital services—to both patients and deceased persons—within the capital and its surrounding areas. The donation, confirmed in a press release on Friday, was sourced directly from the Bank’s Islami Banking Compensation Fund.

The Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Midland Bank, Mr Md Ahsan-uz Zaman, presented the keys to the new ambulance to Mr Mohammad Azim Bakhsh and Alhaj Mohammad Aslam, both Trustees and Vice Presidents of Anjuman Mufidul Islam. The official handover ceremony took place on Thursday, the 4th of December, at the Bank’s Head Office.

Anjuman Mufidul Islam is dedicated to public welfare and runs various charitable activities, notably including the provision of free ambulance services across Dhaka. By making this donation, Midland Bank is indirectly supporting critical and prompt emergency healthcare infrastructure. This initiative sets an exemplary standard for corporate involvement in addressing the urgent needs of the community, especially regarding accessible emergency transport for less privileged individuals. The Bank’s participation in such humanitarian causes clearly reflects its deep dedication to social accountability. Furthermore, this action is set to reinforce the role of the private sector in meeting societal emergency requirements.

The ceremony saw the attendance of several key figures, including Mr Syed Lukman Ahmed, Joint Director (Branch) of Anjuman Mufidul Islam. Midland Bank officials present included Mr Md Rashed Akter, Head of Retail Distribution and Chief Bancassurance Officer; Mr Didarul Islam, Chief Financial Officer (CFO); Mr Md Bajlur Rahman Khan, Head of CRM and Head of Sustainable Finance Unit; and Mr Nakul Chandra Debnath, Head of GSD.
