Brighton-based specialist insurer Ansvar Insurance has successfully concluded its ambitious and innovative “£25k in 25” fundraising campaign, raising a total of £25,216 for 16 national and local charities.
Ansvar, which primarily provides insurance services to charities, non-profits, faith-based organisations, and care-sector clients, launched the employee-led initiative in January 2025 with the goal of raising £25,000 entirely through staff efforts.
The campaign was initially proposed by employee Shaun Utting and saw the Ansvar team engage in a variety of physical, creative, and community-based challenges throughout the year. Key activities included:
Open water swimming
Marathon running
An internal company bake-off
Knitting poppies for the Poppy Appeal
The highlight of the campaign was a charity football match between Ansvar and their broker partners, held in May at Brighton & Hove Albion’s Amex Stadium. This single event alone raised £10,460 for the local youth charity Esteem, which supports young people in building self-esteem and fostering stronger community connections.
In the campaign’s closing phase, employees Fran Leadbetter and Julienne Jones spent a night outdoors in December at Brighton’s Big Sleep Out event, raising both awareness and funds for homelessness support services.
The campaign’s impact extended across a diverse spectrum of beneficiaries, including children, young people, the elderly, veterans, and those living with severe illness or poverty.
Samantha Sanderson, Marketing Executive at Ansvar, said:
“We are thrilled to have exceeded our target and immensely proud of our team’s enthusiasm and creativity. Every pound raised will make a tangible difference for charities, from local Sussex organisations to national causes. It proves that when people unite for a good cause, remarkable things can happen.”
The initiative reflects Ansvar’s broader commitment to social responsibility and aligns with the Benefact Group’s ethos, under which all profits are directed toward charitable causes.
